Collagen biostimulators are used in a treatment that gradually stimulates your own body’s collagen in the treated area. Through biostimulation they activate collagen-forming cells (fibroblasts) and allow them to produce more collagen and elastin. The structure of the skin improves in depth, becomes firmer and elastic. Biostimulation is the so-called stimulation of the production of new collagen fibers and hyalins by the body itself. Collagen production is stimulated very efficiently by injecting a special combination of fillers made of absorbable materials. To date, the three main types of biostimulants are Sculptra® (polylactic acid), Radiesse® (calciumhydroxyapatite) and Ellansé® (Coprolactone).
